    This was before Bill.

Tony Pope is credited with voicing Goofy. He also voiced Goofy in ‘Who Framed Roger Rabbit.’

I love a the voice of goofy
    Is Bill Farmer?

  • eternalshogunx

OH yeah definitely, Alan Young is THE Scrooge McDuck…no ONE can compare, for sure! I mean, we just basically coasted by with Will Ryan, right? lol

  • fattoler

Will Ryan’s voice of Scrooge makes an interesting contrast, but despite my frequent trips across the Border to Scotland I am no expert on Scottish accents so I don’t know which one is more authentic…

  • pytko3

Everybody does. He makes a very good Scrooge.

  • OpieAnthonyXMRadio

I like Alan Young’s scrooge better than Will Ryan’s :)

  • Zenigata92

this is like a pilot film of Duck Tales

  • madmadhatter

No, I distinctly remember watching this one time and remembering how much I liked Scrooge and Duckburg and the characters and wondering who they were. It was quite a while later (like 2-3 years) before they made DuckTales. It’s great to finally rewatch this, I knew I wasn’t crazy and that DuckTales in an animated form (I know the comics were around since the 50s) was set up in like 1985-86 as a Goofy cartoon.

maybe geting his jumping pratice in for DuckTales when he jumps off his diving board into the money.

  • PieFights

    yes i agree there

  • sirozzy82

SoccerMania had width to the bin, but Ducktales had the depth needed to take the lead. ^_^

  • bewitchedchick87

    duck tales :D

  • ke45550

lol uncle scrooge at 2:48 he jumps upwards trough the roof, lol

  • PieFights

Okay quick poll which money bin do you think is better the one in SoccerMania or the one in DuckTales?

  • Scheider28

Me too! This voice doesn’t feel right!

  • grace14518

I wish Alan Young was doing the voice of Scrooge in this one.

  • slave2moonlight

As I recall, this came on while DuckTales was popular, which makes the differences all the more fascinating. Nice to see the boys living with Donald but still interacting with Scrooge, & such comic-bookish Beagle Boys! The big problem is Scrooge’s voice, but I agree that it’s always great to see Scrooge animated (he’s my fave). I actually think Goofy’s voice here sounds more like Pinto Colvig though, as stated by others. The soccer play reminds me of Bedknobs & Broomsticks. Wish this was on DVD.

  • slave2moonlight

Thanks for posting yet another program Disney needs to release on DVD!

  • DancesWithMatches

Geeze. I was so obsessed with this movie as a child. I would make the rest of my family watch this with me everyday. I was a bratty 5 year old…but I loved Goofy, dangit.

  • DrDrewTheodoreLipsky

    Are you kidding?

    1. The animation isn’t Disney-ish at all.
    2. Goofy’s voice is better here than the Bill Farmer version. At least it resembles Pinto Colvig a bit.

  • Artictoc

If this was done before DuckTales the animation was a few years before it’s time at release, because DuckTales was the first Disney TV-series to use the animation later used in series like TaleSpin and Rescue Rangers. Only Disney movies had better animation than this one at the same time.

  • CrimsonNineTail

Agreed, as of this year wikipedia says he’s 89!

  • PieFights

How could he fit a trophy in with all that money can anybody explan that to me??

  • YuiHarunaShinozaki

I guess he was voiced by Will Ryan before Bill Farmer came in
