Syam, Pavan and Naresh has just returned from a school tour of Goa. They lived in the same neighborhood and their families were on friendly terms. Everybody got together and Naresh’s house. The three friends are eager to relate their experience of their parents. Their parents were equal Keen to hear all about the journey.
Syam, Pavan and Naresh all shouted together, “let me tell you.”
“Now,” said Mr. Anand, father of Pavan is’ one at a time, please. Naresh, will start first. “
Naresh, it was the most exciting time of my life: I’ve never seen so much water before.
Syam, that what interested us most are the beaches of Goa. On the beach, the sea stretched as far as the eye can see. far end can see the sky meeting the ground.
Pavan: – it is on the horizon.
Naresh, golden sand beaches were beautiful. We would lie on the warm sand and almost Drift off to sleep. Then, suddenly found the water comes to our toes!
Syam, we had read about the brain and flow of the tide, but seeing it was quite something. We can actually see the water creeping slowly up the beach. And at low tide you could see back away.
Pavan, I began Collection of sea shells. I did not know there were so many different species. So far I have many fans in the shape of shells, a few cowries “shells, but only a conch shell. I do not know the names of several of the shells to collect. I’m going to the library and try to learn too.
Naresh, if you put a conch shell to your ear, you can hear the sound of the sea.
Pavan, actually can hear the same sound if you put your ear to the empty teacup!
Naresh, we found crabs on the rocks. They cling to your fingers and it is very difficult to dispel. We also found some stars and jellyfish on the beach. I wanted to see a sea horse, but could not find.
Syam, we swam in the sea everyday. And first, the waves rushing at us scares me. But when I got used to the rhythm, it’s very enjoyable.
Pavan, there were people doing wind surfing and water skiing, but our teachers will not allow us to test these water sports.
Naresh, what you enjoyed most was building sand castles. We carried buckets and shovels with us. We used these to build our castles. We decorated them with seashells. If you dig a hole in the sand suddenly found a pool of water!
Pavan: – that gave us the idea to build a moat around the castle. But then we need drawbridge. We do not know what to do.
Syam, Naresh did not come up with bright ideas from time to time. It uses an empty biscuit packets to make the bridge.
Naresh, before going to the beach every day, our teachers make a point to see that we cleared away all our rubbish. They said they will enjoy visiting the beach if you found it full of debris. They made us pick up before you depart.
Syam, and we even pick up trash left by others. It was most unfair!
Mr. Anand, these beaches are our heritage. I am happy to see that the good teachers that you are aware of their responsibilities as citizens.
