High Definition Golf has been chosen by Titleist for use in their state of the art Club Assembly, R & D and Sales facility in Carlsbad, California as well as its new Performance Center in Seoul, South Korea.
The HD Golf simulators, manufactured by Interactive Sports Technologies will be utilized by the Titleist staff for new equipment testing, product demonstrations as well as club fitting. Titleist is a world leader in the development of premium golf clubs and balls, and offers a wide variety of products for professionals and amateur golfers alike.
The scientists and engineers at Titleist regularly evaluate new technology for measuring critical ball and club data. As part of this research they thoroughly analyzed the leading golf simulators in the industry for equipment they could use in their performance centers. Titleist concluded that the HD Golf solution was ideal for their demanding needs and that the computer vision based ball and club tracking was more accurate and technologically advanced than any other golf simulator system previously tested. And, the system was intuitive, easy-to-use and measured the performance of every club, shaft and ball tested in the simulator environment presenting the team at Titleist with shot analysis and club fitting data in a highly organized manner on the systems large screen (and touchscreen).
High Definition Golf pioneered computer vision technology for the golf simulator industry, and their systems make more measurements more accurately than any other simulator currently on the market. These include distance (carry and roll), ball speed, club-head speed, efficiency (smash factor), launch angle, swing-path (outside/in, inside/out), club head angle at impact, ball position (re: club-head at impact) and ball spin and spin axis. The simulator will also measure angle of attack, club head acceleration, position of maximum club head speed, club head speed at impact and swing tempo. HD Golf is also the only simulator with the unique capability to dynamically measure shaft flex and load factor, allowing club fitters and manufacturers to make precise shaft recommendations. The simulators are also equipped with a series integrated diagnostic tools used for professional golf instruction including video swing analysis and weight transfer/balance.
Realism was also a key-deciding factor for the evaluation team at Titleist. The championship courses and ranges are reproduced so realistically, that it would be easy to forget that you were actually playing indoors. For Titleist, HD Golf also recreated their outdoor test facility in Carlsbad, by combining digital images, satellite and geophysical data to produce a 3D model of the facility that looks and plays like the real thing.
